Mauviel 1830 — A Legacy of Copper

Founded in 1830 in the Normandy town of Villedieu-les-Poêles—long known as the “city of copper”—Mauviel has spent nearly two centuries refining the art of cookware. Still family-owned and produced in the same region, each piece reflects a lineage of craftsmanship rooted in precision and control.

Copper’s unmatched responsiveness allows heat to move quickly and evenly, giving the cook a level of control that few materials can match. It’s why Mauviel has long been trusted in professional kitchens, particularly for sauces, reductions, and any dish where timing and temperature matter.
